Donnington Castle Chapter No 856 - Report: 12th June 2019
On Wednesday 13th June 2018, the District Recorder Ill\Bro.Tony Rees 32° attended the meeting held at the Masonic Centre, London Road, Newbury.
There were 29 in attendance, including 4 guests, namely Ill\Bros. Tony Rees 32°(DR) ,Tony Lewis 31°(613), and E & P Bros. Steve Lyford 18°, (MWS 567), Martin Cole18° (613), who were all most warmly welcomed by the MWS, E & P Bro. Mike Warner 18°.

The MWS congratulated Ill\Bro. Tony Rees, District Recorder, on having had the 32nd Degree conferred on 4th June, which was met with warm applause. Ill\Bro. Tony thanked the MWS and Princes.
E & P Bro. John Kirkpatrick 18° proposed the minutes of the meeting held on 8th May 2019, be confirmed as a true record. This was seconded by E & P Bro. Mike Brown 18° and carried by the members.
The MWS invested E&P Bro. Peter Sullivan as Herald, having been unavoidably absent from the Enthronement Meeting.
The MWS then carried out a very good Perfection Ceremony Rehearsal, with Ill\Bro. Lionel Voke 30° acting as candidate, ably assisted by E&P Bro. Michael Brown 18°, Intermediate Degrees, Ill\Bro. Kevin Dodd 30°, First Point, the MWS, Second Point and E & P Bro. John Kirkpatrick 18°, explanation and presentation of the Collar, Signs and Words. The DR carried out the Accolade.
There being no other nominations, the Most Wise Sovereign declared that the following Princes would occupy the following offices for the ensuing year:

Outer Guard E&P Bro. John Pegler 18°
The Almoner, Ill\Bro. John Gilbert 30°, advised his report had been previously circulated to the members, following which the Alms were collected.
On the Risings, the Recorder delivered an appraisal of all correspondence received since the last meeting.
He also reminded the Princes of the forthcoming Church Service on Sunday 27th October.
The Third Point, was conducted by Ill\Bro. David Reeves 30°, following which the MWS closed the Chapter.
The evening was concluded with yet another excellent meal at the Old Mill Hotel, enjoyed in the most convivial atmosphere, where the usual Toasts were honoured.
